Air fryer Christmas party food and Boxing Day leftovers
From Christmas Eve nibbles to Boxing Day leftovers, the air fryer heats things up faster than the oven, and two drawers mean two trays at once.
Party food: times and temperatures
| Food | Temperature | Time |
|---|---|---|
| Frozen sausage rolls | 180°C | 15โ18 min |
| Frozen party platter (mixed) | 180°C | 10โ15 min |
| Frozen prawn tempura or filo prawns | 190°C | 8โ10 min |
| Chicken wings | 200°C | 22โ25 min |
| Baked Camembert | 180°C | 10โ12 min |
| Warming mince pies | 160°C | 3โ4 min |
Shake or turn food halfway. Frozen products vary, so check the pack and make sure everything is piping hot all the way through. For a crowd, use Match to run both drawers on the same settings. Our sticky chicken wings make two drawers' worth.
Baked Camembert
- Take the Camembert out of its plastic wrap and put it back in the wooden box, without the lid. If the box is stapled or glued with plastic, use a small ovenproof dish instead.
- Score the top, push in slivers of garlic and rosemary, and drizzle with a little honey.
- Cook at 180°C for 10โ12 minutes, until it wobbles in the middle.
- Serve with crusty bread or toasted baguette slices, which can go in the other drawer at the same time.
Boxing Day leftovers
| Leftover | Temperature | Time |
|---|---|---|
| Roast potatoes (re-crisp) | 200°C | 5โ8 min |
| Pigs in blankets | 180°C | 4โ6 min |
| Sliced turkey (wrapped in foil with a splash of stock) | 170°C | 8โ10 min |
| Bubble and squeak patties | 200°C | 12โ15 min |
| Stuffing | 180°C | 6โ8 min |
Bubble and squeak patties
Mash leftover potatoes with chopped sprouts, carrots or cabbage, season, and shape into patties. Brush with oil and cook at 200°C for 12โ15 minutes, turning halfway, until crisp on both sides. Top with a fried egg for Boxing Day brunch.
Reheating leftovers safely
- Cool leftovers quickly and get them into the fridge within 2 hours of cooking.
- Eat them within 2 days, or freeze them.
- Reheat until steaming hot all the way through, at least 75°C in the middle, and only reheat once.
